bauma: Formwork and access solutions for safe high-rise construction

Hünnebeck at bauma 2025 in Hall B3 Booth 248: More safety, more productivity

At bauma 2025, Hünnebeck by BrandSafway and Brand Access Solutions by BrandSafway will present a comprehensive range of solutions for high-rise construction in Hall B3/248 – with an emphasis on « More safety, more productivity ».

New SCF 60 self-climbing technology: tailor-made with standard components

One of the innovations being showcased at bauma is the new SCF 60 self-climbing formwork. This highly flexible, rail-guided climbing bracket can be crane-operated or used with a hydraulic self-climbing system. In the standard configuration, the platform system is designed for platform lengths of up to 7.50 m with a platform width of 2.50 m, side protection of 2.50 m and a formwork height of 6.00 m. The platform width can be extended in 50 cm increments by using standard components. Enclosures on all levels protect workers and material against falling debris and weather conditions. The formwork lowering mechanism, with a lowering distance of up to 1 m, is easily operated with a cordless drill.

Designed as a modular system, SCF 60 is highly versatile in its use. “In most applications we do not need to engineer special solutions. Instead, we create solutions with standard items,” explains a Hünnebeck formwork expert. One of the productivity-enhancing features is the easily configurable use of additional work platforms above the formwork. “They not only allow continuous concreting and reinforcement work but also easier handling of rebars used across different phases.”

The new SCF 60 climbing system can be delivered to the construction site ready assembled. A crane can be used to position the SCF 60 if required. When self-climbing is the preferred option, up to 160 climbing units can be managed with the SCF 60 using just one remote control.

SAFESCREEN: Well protected at all times

The new SAFESCREEN perimeter windscreen is also designed for safe, ergonomic work practices at great heights. The rail-guided system, which can either climb hydraulically or be moved by crane, offers all-round protection for all structural work and safeguards not only workers, but also pedestrians in urban centers. The system enables safe working under extreme weather conditions across several floors.

All work – including the removal of climbing shoes and anchor cones – is carried out inside the windscreen, which is fully closed at all times. « Even inaccurately placed anchor cones won´t pose a problem. There are horizontal and vertical compensation or correction options for this, » explains the Hünnebeck expert. « The system is designed for an optimal, safe workflow. It provides, for example, integrated stairs or ladders and special loading platforms for material. »

The SAFECREEN system offers standardized designs for different construction methods but can still be tailored to the specific requirements of a project: for example, through the freely configurable number and location of the mezzanine platforms. Even in the case of prefabricated balconies, the bridging can be achieved with the help of rentable system components.

Access solutions for every task

Safe access to the upper levels is another crucial factor in high-rise construction. Scaffolding and/or motorized access solutions are used depending on the task: the taller the structure, the more important an automated access solution becomes. As leading specialists in height access and safety technology, Hünnebeck and Brand Access Solutions have a wide range of façade scaffolding, passenger and freight elevators, mast climbing and working platforms in their portfolio, which are offered in many European countries and worldwide. A comprehensive range of services rounds off the program: In addition to rental, this area also includes assembly services, technical support, trainings, tests and inspections.

Global expertise, locally available

All solutions are tailored to the specific requirements of the project to implement the technically best solution as safely as productively. BrandSafway’s current projects in high-rise construction include self-climbing formwork for the 475 m high Rise Tower in Monterrey/Mexico and the 176 m high Estrel Tower in Berlin/Germany, QuikDeck® Suspended Access System for the « Link » positioned at a height of 100 m between the One Za’abeel Tower and the One Za ́abeel The Residences in Dubai/UAE.
